Memphis in May '08
Well another Memphis in May has came and gone. We had a blast. The vinegar sauce we entered came in 4th place. We were extremely pleased with that. I'm working on a mustard sauce to enter at our next contest. The ribs Waylon cooked were outstanding. I think they were the best he's ever cooked. We came in 34th overall; not as good as last year, but we were ok with it.

Our newest addition to the smokers is a Backwoods Competitor model. It's the best cooker going for ribs or shoulders. We plan on buying another one sometime soon. I highly recommend the Backwoods line of cookers. They are the best smokers on the market.

We'll be cooking again in June at the Tenneessee Funfest. It's going to be a tough contest. Last year some of the best teams around were there, and I'm sure they'll be back for the TN State Championship. We're going to cook in the Shoulder division and try and repeat our SpringFest perfomance of 4th. Hopefully we'll make finals and represent the S'haven proudly.

The Food Network Challenge crew followed us for three straight days prior to Memphis in
May 2007

We finished 13th overall in the Professional Rib Division at the 2007 Memphis in May.

South Haven: 1st in Seafood, 2nd in Ribs, and 3rd in desserts
